Tunstall, UK - Winter Country Living

A very chilly and really a rather frosty day but still sunny and beautiful. The day went by nicely staying warm in the kitchen and Ivor, the families very nice gardener stopped by to cut down some bushes in the garden and he stopped in for tea and a very nice chat. He grew up in the Suffolk area and has lived here his whole life. He is now living he told me in his family home as his parents, both in their 80's, passed away only a few years ago sadly both from cancer and only 3 months apart. He's a very nice man and has been doing gardening, construction and handyman work most of his life so we had a nice chat before he finished all his work.


Teddy went out for a nice 1 hour walk in our favorite nearby field and enjoyed the crisp, cool very fresh air. And while Teddy romped around I slowly strolled around enjoying the views and the clean air and the breeze and while slowly walking over the wheat stubble that has been left since the wheat was harvested I came within, and unknowingly, only a few feet from a reddish-brown hare. The adorable fluffy animal ran as soon as I got to close for comfort and fortunately Teddy, only 50 feet away missed the whole thing, I think absorbed in something he smelled in a nearby bush. I was so excited and watched it hop energetically away into another field in the distance. I snapped a quick picture and didn't really expect to be able to see him but after cropping the picture down a great deal it turns out I captured the furry one in the distance. If you look at the picture with the one tree and in the far bottom right of the picture you'll see the hare with a little white cotton ball tail. So cute even blurry. And in honor of my wonderful hare sighting I took a picture of a water color, almost cubist painting I did while I've been here and which I believe represents a rabbit, perhaps you can see him in the design.

We walked close to the horse farm near the house and saw the sweetest pony looking out at us with questioning eyes.

We enjoyed a very relaxing afternoon and evening in the warm kitchen and the kitties got their evening snack of sardines in sunflower oil and it got them so wound up they were running and chasing each other around the kitchen, on top of the counters and out into the hall and back. They're so funny when they chase each other and Teddy just sits or in tonight's case, just lays there and watches the silliness.

I also got the cutest picture of Ollie sticking his paw in my empty milk glass and then pulling it out and licking off whatever he could get off the bottom.
