The walk was lovely and perfect with all the flowers and lush trees covered with a light sheen of water and the puddles made perfect reflections of the towns beautiful architecture and natural beauty.

The water was still a little rough but it was quickly calming down and lots of locals also came out to finally get their daily choirs done. Lido is like many beach side resort towns and you could almost forget you're in Italy oddly enough but then you hear the language and you know where you are.

It was a nice surprise to see that the hotel is being used by the same company tour company that we used when we first came to Venice over 12 years ago. Go Ahead vacations, a wonderful tour company my aunt Sheila had found and which six of us taken a tour from Boston to Venice, Florence and Rome and today there was a large poster giving the tours itinerary and it was exactly the same trip we had done. A different tour guide, Marcello where as ours, as I remember was a young lady. And then Gate1 tour company was also here this weekend and we had used them for the river cruise from Prague to Budapest for my 40th birthday. It's a really nice hotel so I'm not surprised it's used by the tour companies and it made me a little nostalgic for the first visit to Venice because there is nothing quite like your first time seeing this amazing city and having it truly take your breath away. My subsequent visits, including this one have each been amazing like being in a dream but you can never regain that first moment of seeing the city.

So after a mini mortadella sandwich and snack I took an hour long walk along the town center and then along the beach which was perfect for walking in shoes since the sand was still matted from the day of rain.
There were a few people playing by the water but for the most part very quiet and just naturally beautiful with dark green water softly lapping up to the shore as the tide came in.

It was a wonderfully restful day enjoying the fresh air through window in my charming room and looking out over the garden courtyard and the charming residential buildings in this neighborhood. I am amazed how well it all worked out that on the only day it rained so furiously I was snug, warm and happy in a comfortable room with large windows so I could still enjoy it all while staying dry.
